Hello

I am wondering if anyone has any advice / experience please, on a CSA 'mistake'.

CSA have admitted they should have collected £8,000 in child maintenance from the NRP many years ago but did not.

They admit they visited his property twice, got no response and gave in chasing him.

He has never paid one penny towards our daughters' upkeep.

They have told me there is nothing they can do now and cannot collect arrears from his benefits, "so we'll just park it until he gets a job!". Totally unconcerned.

Problem is NRP has mental health problems and has never worked for 13 years
and says he never will again.

CSA say they cannot make an advance payment as NRP needs to make regular payments for 6 months.

Would you just leave it and accept their 'sorry' or what would ypu do?

Thank you

I wouldn't bother if I were you. Even if they do take money out of his benefit @£5 pw, it would take 133 years for him to pay it back!!
  • I don't think you have any choice but to accept their apology and move on. Do you think your ex actually has £8000 to give you?
