Reclaim Council Tax

We purchased a house in 1987 and sold the house in 2001. Can we reclaim Council Tax from 2003 until selling the house in October 2001.
If we can how do we go about it?
When we bought the house it was sharing its rear entrance with a working Wharehouse, so it was on a low rateable value. This was lower than other local houses. Should this have been taken into account when the Council tax was implemented?

Only the current occupiers can ask for a review of the CT band of a dwelling, so you will have to contact them and see if they are willing to do this. I am curious as to why you now think about this 13 years after selling the house and did not pursue this whilst living there.
The shared entrance may well have been reflected in the CT band or it may not have made enough difference to warrant a lower band.
However, even if the current occupiers do obtain a reduction, some councils now limit refunds to the last seven years only.
BTW I think you mean 1993 rather than 2003.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

Thanks I did mean 1993.
The reason it has taken so long to claim is purely i did not think I could claim. It is looking like I was right.
Just had to find out if it was possible to claim0
