As you can see it doesn't say who the debt is with and I'm just worried to ring them in case it's a fishing letter or something.
Thanks in advance for any help / assistance.

I haven't ever received letters from debt collection agencies - but in my view this looks like a fraud. Maybe someone will come along and say different who has received legitimate letters like this and they intentionally don't put the debt info in the letter in case you're not the correct person.
Can you google this company and see if anything comes up about receiving fraudulent letters?
Hope you get this resolved.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £7,590.00
Total paid off - £8,010.89 (51% paid off)0 -
It sounds like a fishing letter.
Either ignore til they write with info that proves its your debt or if you feel the urge to reply, send the prove it letter.:beer:0 -
DCA`s sometimes use texts, emails, letters etc, as a way of getting people to contact them if they don't have exact details of the debtor.
You have to remember debts get sold on in batches, and sometimes the info can be as little as a name, a balance, and a last know address, so they may letterbomb all smiths, for example in a particular area, in the hope of a hit.
Unless you get something in writing detailing what they want from you, I would just ignore it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
