Maybe an option is to ask the broker company to temporarily cover the £499 by transferring it to you with a signed agreement that it is repaid upon the money being refunded to you by nationwide

If you purchasing a property then one assumes that you do have cash savings to hand. Dramatics are best kept to the stage. The saying "Mountains out of molehills" springs to mind. Keep matters in perspective.
