Thanksgiving recipes.

Accidentally strayed out of DT, so while I was out I thought I'd post this I've found:
The United States of Thanksgiving

We’ve scoured the nation for recipes that evoke each of the 50 states (and D.C. and Puerto Rico). These are our picks for the feast. Dig in, then tell us yours.

The Russian Salmon Pie recipe sounds gorgeous.

Apologies if it's been posted before.

Enjoy. :)
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

Does anyone have a recipe for pumpkin pie that they can recommend? Its not something I have ever eaten but I always think perhaps its something I should try.

My mother in law wasn't the greatest of cooks (OK she was rubbish :rotfl:) but she decided to make a pumpkin pie one day. The filling was just roughly mashed up pumpkin. I don't think she added any flavourings or sugar. Her pastry had the consistency of cardboard too, so all in all not a success :rotfl:
  • We adore pumpkin and buttermilk (a bit like a creamy gypsy tart) pies (tarts!) for Thanksgiving as hubby is from the US.
My fav. pumpkin pie recipe has always been the L1bbys one. You can use fresh or L1bbys tinned pumpkin for it, but it's the smoothest/most velvety filling I've ever found after 16 years of exploring (I know, what a hardship! ;) )
It's on the L1bbys website & very, very easy to boot. x
