Parking Eye - Leisure World - Result!

Options
Hi all,

just wanted to post to say thanks to all for the useful info on this site and let you know what happened to be with a recent PE PCN.

Got the PCN through the post a few weeks ago for a supposed Leisure World parking issue, usual £60 if you pay up £100 later.

I followed the advice in the newbie thread and sent off a letter as suggested.

About a week later I got a reminder which I replied to stating that they should refer to my original letter and enclosed a copy of the proof of posting and a copy of the original letter.

Just recently I received another letter from them stating that the charge had been cancelled and no amounts were due.

I was expecting to have to do a POPLA appeal but it didn't come to that, they just cancelled it :D

So if anyone is reading this who is doubtful about defending a charge, don't be. It cost me a few sheets of paper, a couple of envelopes, two first class stamps and about 15 minutes of my time.

HTH
Cheers,
PEGJ

    Good one PEGJ.

I think PE are coming to realise that if you're wading in with a forum initial appeal, rejecting that and issuing a POPLA code is almost guaranteed to result in a forum-assisted POPLA appeal coming their way, which they can't win, and so they sensibly cut their losses and give in.

This no doubt frees up lots of time to just collect the daily fortune they manage to extract from the uninformed, and to also concentrate on their other line of pursuing people through the courts. In fact in the space of around 10 months they issued court papers to around 22,000 (yep, twenty two thousand) citizens of England and Wales. See here:

    Appalling!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    I concur Umkomaas,

    Another great result.

All PPC's will be on a hiding to nothing.

ESPECIALLY IF WE ALL SHOUT FROM THE TREETOPS.

So PEGJ, Will you be climbing the tree and shouting and letting all the people who don't know how unjust and unfair these company's are, and how easy it is to beat them given the right advice :)
