How come my wife gets paid her small private pension without tax deducted pension

My wife is paid a small private pension from the Prudential without tax deducted because her total income is less than the level that she becomes liable to pay income tax. This avoids her having to claim back deducted tax.
My sister wants to know how I arranged it and I have forgotten. I have looked on the HM Revenue and Customs website but cannot find any information about it.
Does anyone know how you arrange it please.
Thanks

The Pru will be applying the tax code supplied by HMRC - this should show on your wife's pension advice.
If your sister is about to receive a private pension, or is receiving a private pension and thinks that she is being over taxed, she should contact HMRC.

Pensions are income and are administred for tax under the normal salary or wages PAYE system. As xylophone said, HMRC will issue the pension administrator with a tax code, and the pensioner will receive a Notice ot Coding to confirm it.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
