Question, Irish Soda Bread

Hi, advice needed please 
I bought a loaf of Irish brown Soda Bread (yellow Label) on the 14th put in the bread bin and forgot all about. It looks perfectly nice and okay and doesn't appear stale at all but a sniff test is giving a slightly odd smell. Does soda bread have a different aroma? Could I toast it or should it go straight in the bin. Thanks

Hi Gemstar,
There is definitely a distinctly different smell to Irish Soda bread than to standard white bread but that doesn't mean its gone off - I bake soda bread and store it for ages with absolutely no problems at all! I would use away if I were you!Trying to make my way on my MSE adventure.. Debt free since June 2018:j

Huge thanks, needed the confidence to try it. Toasted 2 slices with cheese & tomato and it was delicious. shared a few tiny pieces with my little garden friend, the Robin, he enjoyed it too!
