95% mortgage & help to buy

Options
My fiance and I are looking at Help to buy next year. We will have a 5% deposit and looking at existing builds around £200k.

I had a default on my account from 2008 which I disputed and was changed to arrangement to pay. It will be 6 years old in December. My question is will it still harm our chances if it's over six years old?

We both have good incomes, £35k+ each and can easily afford the mortgage. My fiance has an excellent credit rating of well over 900 but mine is just under 700 (am assuming due to the arrangement).

Once 6 years old it will drop off. You may get asked if you have ever made arrangements with credits - in which case the answer will be yes, but if it does not then it should not get picked up.

Also there are 95% mortgages not using the HTB scheme which may be more competitive so do not limit yourself to help to buy.
