Given you are the younger one in your partnership could you go and get a job so you could get a longer mortgage term and have more money to pay towards a mortgage?
I don't know much about Shared Ownership but I believe the terms vary from scheme to scheme depending on who is running it. The only way to find out if you are eligible is to call and ask.Starting Mortgage Balance: £264,800 (8th Aug 2014)
Current Mortgage Balance: £269,750 (18th April 2016)0 -
Have you done any research into a lifetime tenancy?
It sounds that you may not be able to afford to purchase the home that you want, so you will need to consider lots of options.
Have you spoke to an independent whole of market broker, a trusted IFA with mortgage qualifications, or similar?0 -
I am unable to work. I would not be able to get a mortgage either. He has enough to put down the total required excluding that bit which is the amount the Government puts in on a Shared Equity plan. We do not need a mortgage. What I need to know is do we HAVE to have a mortgage to qualify?0
