At present I receive payments twice-yearly on an AVC that I took out many years ago. I have made a rough calculation and it would appear that under the present circumstances, I must survive beyond my 120th year in order to recover the contributions. Is it possible to claim the outstanding balance as a single payment?

If you receive your payment as a result of an annuity (income for life) then no. If you are in draw down then wait till April.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Depends on how you're getting income from the former AVC pot. If you spent it to buy an annuity then you're stuck with that. If you are using capped income drawdown then you can increase the amount in line with the GAD allowance calculation and from April 2015 can take out any amount you like.0
