I thought I'd post a word of warning about these cards, based on recent experience. I tried to use one in the Park Inn Luxembourg and the hotel wouldn't process it. I contacted the rezidor people in Ireland who said next time to contact the hotel beforehand. We did this in Nottingham, and the staff had to bring out a big manual of how to do things as none of them had ever seen one before! We finally used it, but of course you end up paying top dollar for something you could have got for much less via booking.com or by direct negotiation with the hotel. If you win it in a competition, be very careful that it doesn't end up costing you more than just doing a straight deal with the hotel. EG we stayed at the Park Inn Nottingham for a night, with breakfast. Cost using card £85. Cost using booking.com would have been £53. That would really mount up for a longer stay. Many of the people staying at this hotel were attending police driver rehab course the following day, and were paying even less. The rezidor gift card is great if you want to give it to someone you don't like. They will curse you but won't be able to say anything.
