I live in a really posh area ( the dump part of it:p ) and the only local shops are really expensive so i find food shopping difficult and expensive.
The local supermarket has tinned cooked meat such as stewing steak and beef - princes brand i think, and i wondered what it was like? Is it chewy and full of fat/gristle?
It would cost me a lot less than what i pay in the butchers, especially if you include the cost of cooking it, but i don't want to risk buying it if its awful stuff.
Thanks

I've often bought Tesco stewed beef, I've been impressed, lots of chunks of beef and little if any fat and gristle. Just give one tin a try.0

I'll try a tin, but wanted to make sure it wasn't full of gristle, the stuff makes me gag then i can't face food for ages. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. I have bought Tesco and Princes stewed beef to make a suet crust pie and it is always meaty and tasty with a lovely gravy . We love it just for a change...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
