Halifax Remortgage

Hi All,

Not sure if anyone can help.

I am currently with Halifax, I was in a 2 year fix product which expires in May 2015.

I have completed alot of home improvements, i.e new kitchen and bathroom and driveway.

My mortgage is £83,500 with a property value of £185,000.

From the home improvements I have built up £15000 worth of debt which is on a credit card and a unsecured loan.

I want to move this on to the mortgage to make my monthly payments alot more affordable. Do I have to wait until my deal ends to do this or can I do this a seperate mortgage with them?

Thanks

Loveotter

Potentially, it is a called a further advance but Halifax have some fairly specific criteria in regards to debt consolidation on a further advance.

Appreciate you will say that it was home improvements, but they will class as debt consolidation.

If you can hang out until completion of your fixed rate, your terms will almost certainly be cheaper somewhere else taking the whole balance and then not have split products.

    Good luck
