IVA's and Overtime.
Hi All,
I've been in a IVA for almost 2nd a half years now and everything has been going smoothly so far.
Fortunately I've been able to get overtime at work most months to add additional money to our modest budget.
I have always followed the correct procedure and dutifully paid 50% of anything over the original 10% i'm allowed to keep.
This has resulted in me paying in over £12k instead of my original agreed £6k in the last 30 months. I agree with this, I understand that i'm required to pay back as much as i can.
My two annual reviews with my IP have basically been a phone call from them asking the single question "has anything changed?" to which i generally reply "no" and thats it.
Every month as i receive my payslip, I send an e-mail to my case worker , showing my income and asking her to confirm the amount owing is correct, i then pay promptly. Slowly but surely the return e-mails have stopped and I just pay the additional from my own calculations, not really being in contact with my IP at all.
My question is, if i accidentally forgot to pay in my additional 50% for a month, when would the IP know? Do they ask in the final month for a full submission of all payslips / bank statements etc? I know morally i have a responsibility to pay back as much as possible, but i feel the IP isn't interested as long as I keep surrendering my O/T monthly.
I'd just like to clarify, it's not my intention to miss an additional payment, but i'm just wondering what the consequences of doing so are?
Thanks

If you send your caseworker an email each month, they will probably notice if one doesn't arrive!0
