Vitamin E for skin

I've heard that using a vitamin E capsule (the type you buy for a health supplement) is great if you break it open and use the oil on your skin.

Has anyone tried this? I went out and got some yesterday (from Tesco), but when i broke it open the oil was very viscous (almost gelatinous) and sticky. Is this just the Tesco brand or are all brands of VitE capsule like this?

Thanks

I'm no expert on this but there are two types of Vitamin E, synthetic and natural source. So I am assuming that if you have the synthetic this is the problem and also maybe only the natural would have benefits on your skin.

Do a a search ofr natural source vitamin E and see if you can find anything out.

I use it all the time, I have now switched from capsules to using liquid vitamin E from the states as it's easier than piercing the capsules.

The best way to use it is a recipe I found in a book on anti-ageing years ago, which suggests that you pierce a capsule of evening primrose oil, squeeze the oil out into you hand and then squeeze the vitamin E capsule in as well. Mix together and apply to the face (avoiding eye area) and leave on for a while - I usually leave it on overnight and my skin is lovely and soft in the morning.

It also suggested using the fat-soluble form of vitamin C as well, which comes as a powder - but again I now have to get from the states as they only sell it in huge quantities in this country (you used to be able to buy it from health food stores but I can't find it anymore).

    Hope this helps.
