I'm lucky that my job is term time only, at the local children's resource centre where my boys attended SEN pre-school, otherwise I would not be able to work as I would struggle to find childcare in the holidays. My mum lives an hour drive away and also works as a childminder anyway, she can't really have them with the other kids, although she does on occasion when she only has one other little one.

Sounds like your kids' needs may be more profound than mine, mine gave never been on part time, they attend a specialist unit attached to a mainstream, and one is young mainstream full time after Xmas with support :T

Presumably you are in receipt of DLA and carers? So many ppl with kids with ASD don't think they are entitled.

I've been bulking out mince dishes with a cup of soya mince and they haven't noticed!

I think now you've identified a problem you will be well on your way to sorting it out. I just think it requires a lot of organisation which we don't necessarily have the time or energy for.

Ding dong - I'm still kind of pining got it though! I'm so excited that range goes up to age 8 now as my 4 year old is a big girl!
