Part of the Furniture 100 Posts Combo Breaker
Stores will start to markdown on the shopfloor for late saturday

Slightly confused by this piece - the shop sale does not start until Boxing Day? Is this some kind of "pencil" mark so savvy shoppers will know what is going into the sale?

Yes exactly that! I think there's some kind of code on it which I've read on here before? Can't quite remember though

Yes, someone mentioned that if it has an X on the last part of the product code, it is in the sale, but someone else said that every product works when searched for with that code now!
  • Gutted invites not going out until tomorrow. Passes many a boring hour in work planning my spend :rotfl: I don't work Fridays, and I'm away all weekend too

Will have to be a nice Sunday evening browse, oh I suppose there's always Monday in work :j

Sadly this is the shopping highlight of my year, I love the Next sale!

As an unfashionable bloke, this is the only time I buy any clothes, in the vip sale, so I typically write codes down when the books come through and just enter them in the preview sale and see what is available. Works for me!

That is actually a very MSE way of doing it, as you only get what you want :j
Whereas i trawl through the hundreds of pages adding lots I most probably dont need! Hmm might follow your lead and check out the catalogues tonight!

I usually go into store, look for things I like/need try them on for size if I have time, write down the code or find them in the catalogue/online when I get home and write them on my list. I do find that styles in next vary in sizes so this saves me ordering 2 sizes or risking ordering and it not fitting.

The instore markdown codes look like this

    B12

The 'B' stands for the colour of the ticket
the Number is the sale price so in this case 12

The X code thing i have tried online, if you replace the letter in the POS code with an X it used to tell you if it was in the sale, but it seems to work for new stock as well so i don't think it works anymore.

    Thanks Fontofnoknowledge.

Do the different coloured tags mean anything?

Put what you want in your basket. Go to the basket and look at the codes. If it's still a G it's likely not in the sale - new stock and some brands stay a G. If it's an X it looks like it's going in the sale. It's a theory but you never know and guessing and trying different things is part of the Next sale fun.
