Does anybody have any idea when the vipsale will be. Have deleted all of last year emails

I am going to this one as I go away on Jan 5th so hoping to see a few things I have my eyes on being there.

Will it be the same thing where tags have a number on them in pencil..therefore indicating they will be in the sale?

We have upgraded from pencils to pens this year, but its the same system.

Does anyone know when the VIP slots will start going out? Last VIP slot I got was last Xmas but can't recall when the invites went out!

Does anyone know when the furniture in store will be going on sale? I've heard that it goes on sale prior to the official sale date but I would like to know if there is any way to know when this is happening.

I recall a thread a few years ago where it was possible to see which items were going to be in the sale by changing the last 3 digits of the catalogue code from say
617-617-G54 to 617-617-X54
does anyone else remember this? If so does it still work? And lastly what do you need to change them to?

Furniture sell off starts usually about a week before the official sale date, ill check when its happening and update.

I've just tried this on a few items. Some are definitely in the sale and some are definitely not. Changing the letter to X worked on all of them so it seems that they have changed the way it works.

Ok a quick update of what is going into the sale. I wont answer anything specific but here is an approximation of what is going in.

Anything xmas related or in xmas packaging (All Floors)
80% of Womens Nightwear
70% of Womens Knitwear
40% of Womens Trousers
40% of Mens Tshirts
About 10 Mens Suits
20 Mens Formal Shirts

In regards to Kids, there is just to much to even list, overall i would guess about 60% of all kids clothes are going in

Ill update as i know more.

Like i have said before, the sale will be extended from its usual 2 weeks and stores have about 3X more items than usual. VIP slot deliveries to store are expected to be huge, so expect to queue for quite a while for your parcels.
