I'm sure this is a daft question, but hope you'll forgive me! Does this do what I think it does - ie works in a home which does not have wifi, but currently accesses the internet via a modem/ISDN line?

The title is slightly wrong in that this particular one isn't a wifi extender but a way of not having to use wifi.
Basically, instead of data being sent wirelessly from the modem to the device, the data is 'put' into the house mains wiring with one adapter and then 'taken out' the mains with another adapter and fed by wire into the device.
They are really good actually and can give a better connection than wireless.1 -
