I really need some good advice

My partner a few years ago opened a credit card which only had a £250 limit. He was late with a couple of payments and when he tried to pay them back, £50 of the payments would go to late payment charges therefore he felt he was getting nowhere with paying it back. He was only young at this stage and now it has been passed onto a debt collector company who is threatening him with court action. The amount has now risen to over £950 which seems a bit extreme for a credit card with a £250 limit. Is there anything he can do?

Sadly they can add charges. Did your partner keep in contact with them or did he sort of "hide" from them?
Also how long ago did he last have contact with them?
He could try claiming back for charges, really need a few more details and someone better than me to answer your queries!0 -
It might be worth your while trying to get an appointment to see Citizens Advice - they should be able to give you some advice and help you take things further.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 607 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T
