Is anyone aware of the saying in Northern Ireland that rain at a funeral is a good sign?

I've never heard this one, who is it supposed to be good for? I can see it being a country saying, farmer attending a funeral in the rain isn't missing dry field time. Old sayings can be fascinating!

Happy is the bride that the sun shines on! Happy is the corpse that the rain falls on.

Going from Newry to Derry today, anyone able to advise if the A5 at Victoria bridge is now clear, or would I be better going Belfast and over the glenshane?

Yep, trip over and home now.

I make the trip regularly and normally go Armagh, Omagh. Distance wise it is very close between the Armagh, Omagh, Derry route and the Armagh, Dungannon, Maghera, Derry Route, but I have always found the Omagh way quicker.
