Mortgage through broker rejected?

  • Hi jls, I'm in the same boat as you. Got a AIP on 30 october, full application on 31st and still waiting... I know it can be a lengthy process but it doesn't stop me worrying. Most stressed out I've ever been!! How long have you been waiting?

Doesn't help that we already had a mortgage promise / DIP whatever you want to call it from Santander and were told on the phone it was pretty much guaranteed that we'd get a mortgage offer, but then they decided that we probably will spend more than we say we do on household bills and put our expenses up so that we failed affordability :( Could've cried. Better luck this time I hope!

I'm sure if your broker is confident you'll be ok. I've learned from this forum they do so much work behind the scenes and they really do seem to know their stuff. Hope you get good news soon

I got my AIP on 13/10 but the full application didn't go in until last week (my broker has been taking her sweet time) It is so stressful though, I think I'll just be glad to know one way or another!

At least you are going through this with someone else too. I'm doing it on my own because my boyfriend of 5 years is considering emigrating (long story), so I don't have anyone else in the same boat to moan to.

Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed for us both - make sure to give an update when you hear back!

I wish I knew to use a mortgage broker a lot sooner. It was only after a recommendation that I went to one.

Put mortgage app in on Monday, heard today it's been accepted pending valuation survey.

I think my mortgage broker has been brilliant, picks up the phone within seconds and always replies to emails within an hour. Definitely worth the fee.
