Does the weather affect your moods?

Well another miserable day in the Midlands and another miserable day in what should be a happy, holiday house!! Day 3 of the school holidays and weather crap again!
Yesterday was lovely and so were all the people in IDA world, happy and active!
Today gloomy and dull outside again and so is this house - feel bad cause we're not suffering the way those in the floods are but just don't see and end to this grotty weather.
Just wondered if anyone else was affected by the weather or is it just and IDA quirk??? Not a very mse topic but feeling like this I have to resist the spending urge too - lol!

I don't mind rain. It's good for the plant and grass and I love the smell of summer rain. I hate being hot though... makes me feel really lethargic and ill.

No its no quirk unless I am quirky too.

I find this summer very depressing it is holding so many plans up and when it does get sunny I feel pressured to enjoy it!

I don't mind rain but c'mon every day rain is a bit much and my tumble dryer won't last much longer!

I feel exactly the same as you. Should be getting on with lots of household chores but really down in the dumps and wasting time on the computer not getting anything done!!!!!
  • Have to agree, I actually don't dislike rain but by the bucket load it all gets a bit much - lol!! I just feel fed up and all my get up and go got up and went! Yesterday was almost manic as we rushed to do everything (washing, cutting the lawn etc, etc) and enjoy the lovely weather (going to the park, picnic, barbeque etc, etc) infact a whole weeks worth of good weather work and fun in one day - lol!!!

I must be quirky too then.

I hate it when it's like this dull, murky and rain, rain, rain. It makes me tired, can't be bothered to do anything and eat (which isn't good cos I'm on a diet - sort of).

Now give me sunshine and I'm a totally different person. Up early and ready and raring to go for the whole day. Even DH says my mood is directly affected by the weather.

Even in winter it can be as cold as you like but as long as it's blue sky and sunshine I'm fine.

I know what you mean, I don't particularly like the hot weather either but when it is dark and dreary, I don't feel the energy burst to get up and get moving and doing stuff. Could quite easily sit on the sofa all day surfing MSE :rotfl:

Day 3 of the school holidays and weather crap again!

Up here it's WEEK 4 of the school holidays. Kids can't get outside and are going stir crazy. I'm glad I'm at work!

Actually just had a thought. If we're all down in the dumps and not going anywhere cos it's orrid then that is very MSE.

Sorry just an attempt at being cheery!
