Stock Cubes

Options
I need to get some more vegetable stock cubes and wondered what other people buy. Currently I have Asda own brand but find they don't crumble or dissolve very well.

Are the Tesco Everyday value ones any good or just like adding a lump of salt? My beef and chicken ones are oxo from £ stores but i've noticed the packs there getting smaller and smaller.

TIA.

Home Bargains do really nice stock cubes. I like the Veg ones from Aldi so tend to buy those - but the only 'branded' ones I buy are the Chicken 'OXO'. I just cant get on with other brands!
The aldi veg stock cubes are a little moist but crumble and dissolve easily enough. in fact, I have dropped almost whole ones into the gravy and they still dissolved completely.

I recommend the Kallo stock cubes - especially the organic veggie stock (they do it in powder form too). Low in sodium, but high in flavour!

I use the vegetable buillion. Costs £1.99 ( I think) and lasts for ages. Tastes much nicer than the cubes.
However, if you want to get cubes, I agree with Kallo Organic ones being the best.

The Swiss bullion is the best imho but I also use the stock pots when on offer. The beef stock pot is excellent

Don't get the ones from Aldi - I think they are called Quixo. I am an Aldi fan but this is one of a small number of items I have found there that I don't like. They went in the bin.

    And another vote for Kallo.

...and for HFW's quick recipe with grated veg to release their juices quickly.
