Nationwide's free standard legal fees

Does anyone have any experience of Nationwides free standard legal fees. I'm deciding between 2 products with 2 different lenders. One product has a rate of 3.19 over 5 years with £500 cash back but doesn't include free legals. The Nationwide product is 3.04 over 5 years with "free standard legal fees".
The £500 cashback will be more than enough to cover my solicitors legal fees but if the Nationwide product does cover my fees then it saves me about £300 over the 5 year term due to the better rate.
It is just a standard remortgage - nothing unusal - no changes.
Thoughts?

The free legal fees service is designed for the standard situation.
Service is likely to be slow as with all 'free legals' offers.I am a Mortgage Broker

Nationwide offer £250 cashback as an alternative to free legals. Use that as the basis for your comparison.
Pick your own conveyencer from a local recommendation. We hear bad stories about people who go with a low cost conveyencer like nationwide would appoint. Plus their 'free legal fees' doesn't cover everything, it doesn't include disbursements or stamp duty forms etc.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Thanks folks, much appreciated.
The progressive BS (Northern Ireland) offer £500 cashback which I know is more than enough to cover my own solicitor doing the legal work - with a little left over. The Nationwide rate is slightly better in that it would save me £5 per month (over 5 year, £300). It also has "free standard legal fees". So I've been trying to decide which I'm better going with!!0 -
Is your propery leasehold, i.e. a flat. As this will incur additional costs not covered by the offer.0

No, standard chalet bungalow. Should be a basic remortgage - no changes on anything, just moving to new provider.0
