Don't know if this is on the right board, but thought I would risk posting it here.
Looks as though CD Wow are going to load an online music store (i.e. music downloads). There are suggestions that their prices will be cheaper than the likes of iTunes. More info here:

https://www.mp3search.ru offer download tracks at 10 cents each.Thats right 10 cents! You can download an album for 60p. The site has been investigated by the russian authorities but it was found that they are not breaking any laws and so it could not be closed down. The site has a fair selection of albums and is updated daily.Ricardo0

There's been a whole discussion about the Russian music sites already (and I think more specifically the allformp3 (or is it allofmp3?)) and that got locked!!
Its a grey area. While those sites my be legal in Russia, doesn't mean they are legal in the UK (however no-one knows if they are illegal here, hence the grey area!)"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -

Not locked at all... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=354830 -
Sorry. I swear I thought the thread was locked. Maybe it has now been unlocked or am I just loosing the plot?
Question to N9ne: Have the UK authorities or courts actually declared that these Russian sites are illegal?"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -

I've been watching out for this for a while. To see if there is a definative answer from the police/courts in the UK. Not a word! The only statements made about this site are from the music biz. They would like us to believe this site is illegal. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

So have I!! That is why I was saying it is a grey area, because no-one really knows! Like you say Rex, it is just the record companies which are saying these Russian services are illegal. However no legal authority in the UK (and I think within the EU) has actually said anything to say they are illegal.
However at the same measure no legal authority has said that such services are legal. Therefore at the best (at present) these sites have negative clearance, as in no-one has decided they are legal (but no-one has said they are illegal either). Confused?
