Daily caps will (in general) fall, but the off-peak cap has been withdrawn. So if you previously travelled off peak, your daily cap will INCREASE.

Worse still if you live outside Zone 6 where the daily cap will in fact be INCREASED; the off-peak Zone 7 cap will rise from £11.60 (off-peak) to £20 (daily), an increase of over 72% (perhaps this is why the table given to the press stopped at Zone 6? )

And, of course, with the end of off-peak caps there will be less incentive for people to delay their travel until the peak period ends at 9.30, so we can expect an increase in overcrowding on morning peak hour trains

    I'm confused:
The all-day 1-6 travelcard will remain frozen at £17

    and
Zones 1-6 will be capped at £11.70, down from £15.80.

Also no mention about what happens to the Z2-3+ weekly or longer travelcards (e.g Z2-3,Z2-4,Z2-5,etc.)
  • As a new user i can't post links but if you go to the TFL website the full list of fares are there.

It only gives you the weekly T/CD prices so if you want a rough idea of what monthly and annual t/cds are just use 2.5% of your current price
  • the weekly 2-3, 3-4, 2-4 etc seem to be going up between 30-70p
  • Weekly fares:
    2-3, 3-4, 4-5 etc up from £16.50 to £16.80
    2-4, 3-5,4-6 etc up from £18.20 to £18.60
    2-5, 3-6 etc up from £21.80 to £22.30

Full list of fares is shown here

    http://www.london.gov.uk/sites/default/files/fare_tables_2015.pdf

Weekly travelcards are shown on the first page, and it says monthly travelcards are 3.84 times the weekly prices, and annual travelcards are 40 times the weekly prices.

The fares quoted by Davek2000 seem to be the 18+ student scheme fares; for normal passengers the Zone 2-3, 3-4 etc weekly cards will go from 23.60 to 24.10, so the monthly and annual prices will become 92.60 and 964 respectively

The paper Z1-6 will be frozen.

So it will never make sense to get a frozen paper Z1-6 as it is now much more expensive than the daily cap, whereas previously it was the same price as the peak cap.

Of course, TfL are trying to stop people paying with cash!
