Hmrc Crimal Investigation

Came home to a calling card from HMRC Criminal Investigation, now I have worked all my life paid taxes etc so what could this possibly be about?
I have tried ringing the numbers on the card but no answer, they must finish at office hours.
Really worried but know I have done nothing wrong, but what could it be that they want? Anyone else had a card from them?

I know this might sound condescending, I'm sorry if it does, but did you Google the number on the card? Could be a scam.
Do you have/had any self employed earnings or are you employed through a recruitment agency?0 -
Thanks for your reply, just googled the number and nothing coming up. Googled the persons name and nothing.
No I have been working as a direct employee, some recruitment agency work a good few years ago maybe that is it?
Maybe it's just me but seems strange they called rather than send out a letter if it was serious but I don't know how they work.0 -

Honestly sounds dodgy to me. Did it have your name on it?
I'd give the HMRC helpline tomorrow. I know they make unannounced visits to businesses but to a PAYE employee doesn't make sense.0 -
The Cutting Tax board might be a good place to ask if anyone else has had this card.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Sounds very dodgy.
Don't call the number again, you never know how much they could be charging you...0 -

Just read your other thread - thank goodness for that!
Can't help thinking that there was a better way/better calling card they could have used in the first place - I would have thought it was a scam myself!0
