I am at the end of my tether. I insist that I am a half size in shoes and that there is just too big a gap between sizes, despite the retailers' bluff and bluster to cover their obvious cost saving strategy of doing away with half sizes.
At the moment I am looking for a decent pair of slippers for the winter which will fit and can I find anything? I most certainly can not.
Does anyone know of any outlet which still offers half sizes?

Urg - I know exactly what you mean! It's virtually impossible to find reasonable quality shoes in half-sizes without having to mortgage a vital organ or two! Half-sizes appear to have been all but phased out by major retailers. I find it hard enough to find shoes I like, and now even if I do they're never in a size that actually fits. :mad:Roadkill Rebels December - £2.49

So why would no retailer break ranks with this nonsense situation and offer half sizes? They would benefit from what would virtually be a monopoly. Strikes me it's the sort of thing Marks and Spencer might do... and quite profitably too. But obviously the wiser heads than mine which have got them into such great shape over the last few years know better...0 -
Having done a google search Clarks.co.uk sell shoes and slippers in half sizes as do Brantano.
I take a 4 and a half but invariably I end up with a size 5. I have slim ankles too which can also be a problem with shoes because although my feet are wide near the toes (too much living in sandals all summer) they are still narrow at the heel.
Not sure but I think that Marks & Spencer still do half sizes.0
