Fake 64Gb Micro SD card

Well, I bought a 64Gb micro SD card off an Ebay seller, ran H2testw against it as soon as I got it and it reported about 15.3Gb of successfully verified data and the rest unusable.

So, I guess that'll be a 16Gb card re-labelled or something.

Couple of questions ...
1) I paid £23.50 for it, seems to be about the going rate. Is that too cheap to expect a genuine product?

2) I knew there were fakes ot there so I didn't order one for £8, but how do I get a real one?

I would totally agree with bermary, I have been using &dayshop for years and have never had any problem with any product that I have had from them. Very quick deliveries to :0)

  • as common as muck , fake cards m suprized that it was a 16g and not a 2g one ,

I had this problem and read an article on using MS "diskpart" , google it and use the windows built in programme to set the cards back to a safe useable size.

with prices dropping all the time I think 50p per gig on a larger card is the norm
  • I always buy from gizzmo_heaven on eBay. They are based in Jersey but delivery is quick and the cards are genuine. I'm actually getting one replaced by Sandisk that developed a fault after a year.

Fairly common scam on eBay I'm afraid, it used to be a lot worse that it is now.

    Also £23 isn't that cheap.

Well, full marks to the Ebay seller: they've offered a full refund + the return postage OR a new card from a different batch.

Think I'll try their new batch, if that fails I'll go to 7dayShop, I've used them before.

    Good news :T

That would seem to indicate a fault rather than a scammer. Glad you got it sorted out.

Not really - they've had to give you your money back because you caught them. They'll hope you don't kick up a fuss, and can continue to scam other people who don't notice or don't claim. You should report them to eBay or at least mention it in feedback.
  • I've bought four of these cards from the same seller on eBay over the year:

Sandisk 64GB Micro SD SDXC Memory Card Class 10

They work perfectly with my Fiio X3 audiophile player, which is notorious for disliking some 64GB memory cards.
No problems with seller and he answered many of my pestering questions before I started purchasing from him

They've refunded me already, I've ordered one from 7dayShop as I've used them before and others on here have recommended them.

I wonder how many people have these and don't realize it, I'm a techy so the first thing I did is run H2testw against it, the vast majority of people probably wouldn't know until they went over 16Gb of content on it and stuff started getting corrupted.
