Help Please- CSA/Child benifit confusion

My daughter is now 18 and attending college on a one year advanced course.
I assumed I would no longer have to pay but as the child benefit office do not class this as an advanced course so my CSA payments continue.
Before this the CSA advised that advanced courses would mean and end to my case ????

Can anyone advise if there is anything I can do.

The CSA and Child benefit office have contradicted each other on when payments stop

  • If the child benefit office have now stopped paying child benefit to your ex then CM would no longer be liable. Unless you have arrears then you will need to keep paying until these are paid off.

The CSA can do a child benefit check to see if its still being paid.
  • The benefit office are continuing to pay as due to it only being a one year course they don't see it as an advanced course.I would rather the money goes to my daughter than the witch (sorry the ex)
  • You remain liable to pay child support to the PWC (not the child) until child benefit ceases or until the 'child' reaches age 20.

All the time CB is payable then CM is liable.
