Hi...I'm maxed out with ISAS....need to put as quite a lot somewhere. Seems current ac. is best place at the moment. I've looked at some but have quite low limits. What would be best? thanks.

This, plus 3 x BOS Vantage. Cillions of posts on all these on the forum.0

The Lloyds account has a decent limit of 5k for the 4% rate. 1 single and 1 joint if you can to store 10k.
Santander 20k @ 3% - again 1 single and 1 joint.
TSB 2k @ 5%
Nationwide 2.5k @ 5%
I think those are the best current account options available right now. All rates gross.0 -
I need to put about 50K somewhere.....Only on v. poor rate in Halifax.0

If you are single, the accounts already mentioned by other posters will take care of £[STRIKE]44500[/STRIKE]. If you are a couple, including joint accounts, that figure jumps to over £100,000.
You may also like to consider feeding regular savers, i.e. First Direct, Club Lloyds, HSBC.
Edit... See Yorkshireboy's post (6). I forgot about Tesco's.0 -
Re current accounts, if you're on your own:
£2K @ TSB
£2.5K @ Nationwide*
£5K @ Lloyds
£20K @ Santander
£15K @ BoS
£6K @ Tesco
£50.5K total (9 accounts)
If there are 2 of you:
£6K @ TSB
£7.5K @ Nationwide*
£15K @ Lloyds
£60K @ Santander
£30K @ BoS
£12K @ Tesco
£130.5K total (22 accounts)
All making 3-5% AER
* 12 month introductory 5% AER (falling to 1% AER thereafter).0 -

Good summary.
Might be worth mentioning that the Nationwide 5% is for 12 months only

In post #2, I did link to info that included Tesco and all the numbers. Seems nobody read any of it though, lol.
