Sorry, a bit slow checking back into this thread and so hadn't seen the question above.
A DAS is not the same as a Protected Trust Deed, and in these circumstances would not involve any of your debt being written off. What it would enable is guaranteed protection against extra charges and legal action under the protection of a formal debt repayment programme.
Assuming you were to apply through a non-commercial organisation such as a Citizens Advice Bureau, there would be no fees to pay.
