Thinking about getting onto property ladder - IMPOSSIBLE!!

Hi everyone, me and my partner are thinking about getting onto the property ladder.
We have always been pretty good with money, never been in debt, never missed payments on finance etc and always had at least some money to fall back on when required. Currently we are living with parents. Our combined income works out at about £36k which we are still finding pretty impossible to work with!
We have tried working everything out and i would attach the excel spreadsheet but it wont let me attach it because im a new user
Basically, after costs, we would like to live nicely, without having to worry about too much, we both work very hard and it seems very tight.
Does anyone know if we are entitled to anything extra? Or making things a little cheaper/saving money? Its very difficult and unfair!
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

Where are you? (house prices differ widely)
Do you have any deposit saved up?
You say that you are meeting finance payments, but how big is/was the loan?
Do you have any other debts (eg credit cards)?
And what are your expectations? You say you'd like to "live nicely", well that is a very woolly description. Do you want to go out for posh restaurant £100 meals every week? Or would you like to live without bailiffs at the door? Two extremes, but both could be described as living nicely.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

How much have you managed to save as a deposit? Living at home is a major advantage.0 -
