Creditor wants my bank statements!?

Surely this isn't allowed?
I've told them Im on benefits- I've given them my disposable income and made them an offer based upon that info.
They've said they won't stop adding charges or set up any payment plan based on whatever I say and unless I use a debt management company or supply all my bank statements from the last three months they won't set up any sort of agreement.
I've told them my monthly offer is my final offer... They hassle me constantly and are aggressive and rude so I've emailed and said I want them to "cease and desist" and communicate with me in writing, I've made my payment of my offered amount despite them refusing it and their caller saying "we can do what we like and we don't accept your payment without your bank statements"

Any advice?

Well they can ask.......

But no you are under no obligation to supply them and would definitely be best not to.

Who is the creditor? is it your only creditor?

As Tixy says, it appears they are playing hardball with you.
Usually they will either end up accepting, or they will sell the debt on.

No it's not my only debt and it's my smallest debt. I've told them if I used a pro rata method they would be getting much less. I've said either accept my offer or I will consider the matter closed and debt satisfied - I've said I will make payment as per my offer regardless until I hear from them to say they understand they need to accept or take me to court- and I will use the emails as evidence that I have made an offer of 1/5 of my disposable income (5 creditors) others I owe far more to have accepted my statement that I have X amount of disposable income and here is 1/5th each and I will pay more as and when I can if my circumstances improve

Logbook loans.. In desperation I took out a loan- the guy was like "pay it back next week/month and you don't owe lots of interest" stupid me didnt read the contract properly and the whole amount was owing- the guy lied to me so now I owe thousands of pound on a loan I got because I was in a pickle and to beg peter to pay paul. Bloody stupid I admit. The cars been scrapped so there's nothing for them to reposess which I've also told them

I have told them they ARENT having my bank statements or income expenditure - do you suggest I just keep paying what I offered or stop altogether to try and force their hand.
I have told them unless they stop harassing me I will report them without further notice to the FSA

Why won't you let them see your bank statements? Are you hiding something?

If you refuse to comply with their request, then they can infer that you have something to hide.

Sourcrates gives you two things that can happen. The third thing is that they can take you to court, and a judge can compel you to produce your bank statements.

Take your choice.

I was going to ask the same question, but pop pas beat me to it.

If you are not happy to share your bank statements, can you not just send and income and expenditure form which is a standard request, and as said below if for any reason it got to court procedures you would be expected to provide this and statements to prove what you can afford.

You could always black out details you don't want them to see, along with account numbers, just showing your name and address with balances to demonstrate it is you.
