My rights advice - reseller gone bust

Hello
I am not sure if this is right place for this question but I can see anywhere else thats a better fit.
I describe the issue I am having.
I bought a Sprayway tent about 4 years ago from a company called Outdoor World. Whenever we have used the tent, some of the poles have become stuck together due to what I believe is a design flaw. This has happened everytime we have used the tent. I have previously been able to get the poles separated apart from this last time.
When I tried to contact the company I bought it from, I found out that they had gone bust a couple of years ago and someone (Outdoor World Direct) has bought their domain name.
I am currently dealing with the manufacturer. They didn't respond for 2 months until I included the MD in one of my chasing emails! They offered to replace the poles that are stuck together but this won't resolve the underlying issue of them getting stuck in the first place.
I would like to know what rights I have with the manufacturer now that the reseller (who my "contract" was with) has gone belly up. Would I be able to get a refund as the tent has a design flaw?
Any and all advice would be gratefully received.

I doubt it. You have had 4 years use out of the tent, after all.
I would accept the manufacturers offer. If the new poles stick, then contact them as soon as the issue arises, as you would then be in a much stronger position than you currently are, to show it is a design fault, not wear and tear.
Also ask the manufacturers whether they have any advice to stop it happening. If it is a know issue they may have a work around. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
