BBC Interview and Role-Play

Options
Hi there,

I have just found out I have an interview, including role play, for the Beeb in 2 weeks time. I'm already terrified! Has anyone any experience of role plays being used during interviews? I would like to know what I should expect?

Thanks
Harloe :o

I haven't any experience of this (and I had an interview a few years ago at the BBC) but I guess it depends on the type of role you are going for.

Are they not going to give you any additional information to help you to prepare for it? If they're not I suppose they will generally be testing to see if you have the competences required in the role:
    • Your reactions when under pressure
    • Communication skills and interaction with others
    • Problem-solving ability
    • Customer-focus
    • Negotiation skills (depending on if needed for the role)
Maybe if you look at the job description and person spec and try and work out which competences are the most important ones for the role and think about how you would test in a role play situation to see if people have these skills.
I'll never be a Money Saving Expert while my kids are Mony Spending Experts.
