C&G new deal for exsisting customers

We're out of our fixed deal now so looking around at re-mortgaging to bring the repayments back down. (gone up by about £80) We've been to Barclays but as OH is now self employed we're "screwed" really at getting one with them.
I checked on the C&G website and it said about changing current deals to a new fixed one. Here's the link. Now we won't be changing the term, amount or anything, just hoping to get the payments down.
Does C&G recheck your circumstances when you change to a new deal or do they look at whether you've missed any payments/can still afford to do it. (We haven't missed any payments.)
Thanks

If you follow your link, there's another link in the text 'steps to switching'.
That page talks about attending an appointment, and collecting pay slips and bank statements, so it looks like some re-checking is going to take place.0 -
hmmm, damn. Oh well, may as well try, worst they can say is we have to stay on the deal we're on

Thought I'd update this in case anyone else is looking into this

We have a new mortgage
Looks like they didn't need to do any checks, or if they did, nothing flagged up which is good. Took a week in total. So happy now though as we've saved £130 a month in repayments
