Alternative for oatmeal?

I've seen a lovely cake recipe in the Waitrose magazine which I want to try. It says 'medium oatmeal'. I'm just doing my online shopping at Tesco's and can't find any oatmeal, medium or otherwise. Is there anything I can substitute - I'm guessing porridge oats will be too coarse?
Thanks

Porridge oats are oatmeal, it's just that the former are steamed and rolled rather than ground like the latter. Just use what you've got if you can't find a way of making it less coarse in a food-processor or similar.0
