Natwest mortgage - any experts?

Am I right to believe that Natwest will only instruct the valuation survey after the underwriting process has been satisfied?

Since we applied we were told the application was going through underwriting. Natwest asked for passaport copies and there was a question about a credit on my bank statement.

Valuation survey took place on Wednesday.

Broker usually takes 48 working hours to hear back.

Am I wrong to assume all is good with the application subject to the valuation?

Speaking from my own experience the valuation survey does normally take place after it's passed underwriting.

I'm just waiting to exchange contracts and my mortgage is with Nat West.

I do believe that you can request the valuation to take place before underwriting, but it isn't normal practice as I am led to believe.

Thanks, I do think it's the case. We just have had so many hurdles along the way I just want this to be over! I knew buying would be stressful but I had underestimated how stressful!

i am also waiting to exchange contracts and have a mortgage with Natwest. Waiting to get the final yes was probably the most stressful weeks of my life! I am no expert but did feel much more confident a yes was coming after i paid for my survey, so hopefully you are well on your way too. Obviously the survey could bring issues, but i think you personally have probably been approved. Good luck

That is how I feel, yes we do want everything to be okay with this property but it has been such a long and hard journey that as long as we have been "approved" if the property fails the survey last case scenario at least we know we can get the mortgage if you know what I mean!

Natwest won't go to valuation until they've accepted the application in principle. If you want to be 100% sure you could always phone them though.
