Everyone's favourites will be different. Book shops that stock end of runs, like bookends or superbooks often have wonderful treats in them I find, things that have perked up my kitchen.
I bought a book called ginger and lemon grass at one at about this time last that inspired all of us here, getting people going back to other Indian and Chinese books we have too.

Its somewhere I go a couple of times a year when my strong husband is there to carry a bag. :o.

  • Check out the local charity shops, most of them have a shelf for cookery books and they are always at reasonable prices and very often modern ones too by celebrity chefs. I have a fascination with WW2 cookery and have been amazed at how many original and also repro books have been there waiting for me over the years. My youngest DD has a collection of wonderful books by YOTEM OTTOLENGI which are usually on the shelves in Waterstones and make your mouth water just looking at the pictures, have a look next time you're passing, you might like them, Lyn xxx.

I am just back from a quick trip into town and I went into one charity shop en route to B & M. They had masses and masses of mint condition cookery books - I managed to get a pressure cooker recipe book for #1.50 - it's #16.99 on Amazon. If you look long and hard enough it will turn up!

This is a fabulous book. :T

I also like reading the ottolenghi books, everything I have read in them I would love to eat. I made two things from them though and they were so prep heavy for the simple outcome I was a bit...

Charity shops and cook books are amazing. I love out of print odd ones though. Weird things like recipe books devoted to meat fondue.:o
