I need ideas for getting organised in all ways

I work in a similar job to yourself and I buy my work clothes mostly at Asda as I find they are decent quality for what you pay. I wear the £6 trousers for work, I have 3 pairs of work trousers, 5 tops, 2 cardi's and 2 dresses this will be the main bulk of my work wardrobe for the winter that i will add the odd top and cardi to as I see them0

Good luck! Sounds like a perfect new year style organisation a little early.
I had a similar organisational shift once our ds was born & we were back to work full time...& I'm in the middle of getting it all back on track after having our dd. I have a routine for everything so that free time is maximised outside of work & I never have to think about anything!
I used to plan meal weekly, but have been doing it monthly for 2 months now & it's def. saving us money & time as we're not at the shops as often for groceries. We have a list of "favourite" meals (there are only 47 things on the list & new things we try only make it on the list if we really like them & want them in our cycle of regulars). When I meal plan I always try to put meals together that will either leave favourite leftovers (we don't mind just eating the same thing if it's an absolute favourite) or which use the same main ingredients as the meal for the next day or two...eg: roast dinner with an on offer meat, as it's a fav. the exact same thing the next day, then the meat with egg/chips or in a pasta bake the next day & whizzed into a soup or on a pizza the next.
My wardrobe was ridiculous when I sorted out after having babies. I had new, old, great quality, cheap & ridiculous quality, well fitted & many things that were too big from pregnancy & too small from pre-pregnancy!! Haha. 1) I had a massive sort out & sold some pieces on eb4y. 2) I took everything else I didn't want to charity shops. 3) Then I made a list of what I "wanted" to have (totally personal choice & dependant on what you do/like/your budget etc.). I just craved things that were easy to throw on & feel/look good & coordinated in without it costing too much, but also that would last more than a season before needing to be replaced as I generally don't "enjoy" shopping for myself.
My casual list: A well fitting/good quality jean. Neutral coloured/favourite colour tees & long sleeved tees. A couple of thin knits. A casual chunky knit/jumper. A gillet for layering. Coordinating scarves. Casual boots.
My work list: 2 pairs of tailored trousers/1 or 2 smart skirts. Tailored tops (shirts & knits from my casual list often fulfil this too). 1 or 2 quality/smart jackets. Coordinating scarves (also see casual list). Smart/good quality shoes to match the trousers/skirts.
I also have 1 black dress & 1 pair of very smart black tuxedo style trousers that can be dressed up or down for a casual dinner/more formal occasion.
For my skin I use B00ts own stuff for dry/sensitive skin & have never really questioned it as it works & doesn't irritate my face. I cleanse with a wash, tone as I wipe it off & slap on moisturiser in the morning & at bedtime.
My foundation is powder (colour & m1neral ve1l)...1 of each of these pots seems to last me a year. I then use a number 7 eye cream pot & liner & a slick of long lasting lipstick (lasts all day).
For cleaning I have a list of 1 or 2 jobs I do each night with the weekend totally free....I never spend over 20-25 mins cleaning each day. (This doesn't include cleaning/wiping down the kitchen each evening). I only use t-tree oil/water in a spray bottle, bleach, cheap baby-oil & value brand cream cleanser in the house...hate having too many products taking up space & which I never used to seem to get around to using anyway!
Good luck & I hope you find something that works for you. xxx0 -
Hi Fusspot, may I ask what time you leave for work, and get home? Would you be happy to use the timer on your oven? or is home time inconsistent?
Does work have cooking facilities in your lunch hour, if so make ahead so you eat your main meal midday, and only have to do a quick light meal at home.
A bit anal, but why not buy a set of different coloured coat hangers, so work, play, posh etc is easily grabbed from wardrobe.
Don't know why I'm posting, I live in a pit but would love to be organised...........I NEED A WIFE!!!!!0 -
Please keep us posted with your progress! I'm constantly on a mission to achieve a more streamlined life!
Huge decluttering helped me the most, then it's been about constant tweaking of my current routines!0
