Well done, i feel quite inspired by your story, i am new to this but am desperately trying to deal with my debt.
My h keeps telling me to stop worrying but it is hard, especially when the fridge freezer breaks down(yesterday)and you have to go and get a new one and all of the food in the fridge and freezer is ruined(had just done a major shop), But trying to keep my chin up.
  • Congratulations!!!!!!! It must feel fantastic. I can only agree with all the previous posters, and as above when I'm having a bad day stories like this showing it can be done, keep me going. Thank you for sharing the good news with all of us still struggling.

Thanks all - I am really proud of what we have achieved together.

In terms of what we will now spend the money on, since we got rid of H's last debt we got married, so we spent some of the money on that and having a fantastic honeymoon :D(3.5 weeks in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong). The rest of the money has been being saved so we can afford for me to take maternity leave if we manage to start a family.

The next stage is moving to a bigger house and we had an offer accepted on somewhere we love yesterday. The fact we don't have the debts to service means the larger mortgage isn't worrying us as it is still less than we were throwing at our debts.

Good luck to everyone - it can be a long slog but it is worth it.
