How to boost your nectar points at Sainsbobs without spending more.

If like me the forthcoming Sainsbobs nectar points changes have annoyed or disappointed you somewhat then this may help.
Firstly we have several cards in our household and I rotate them as I go shopping. This gives the impression that as a shopper I haven't spent enough for a week or two and the till spits out extra bonus points to entice me back. Lately it's been spend £30 and get 600pts or £40 and get 800pts.
When putting shopping through at the till I always pay for one item separately and check the resulting till spits prior to deciding which card to use for the rest. Sometimes I buy one thing over £1 before going round and doing the shopping and then spend accordingly be it over £30 or 40 or 50 etc. I generally only buy stuff that is on offer or will be price matched with @sda.
Another reason for several cards is that when they do extra points promotions on clothing etc you can take advantage by splitting the transaction and gaining more points.
This week the till spits have been spend £25 on clothing and get 700pts on one card and spend £20 and get 800pts on another card.
Next week I have a triple points on £50 spend and 800pts on £20 spend on clothing to use together. Sometimes I am able to use up to 4 or 5.
And unlike Tosco when you return something they don't remove your points. Also if when returning an item if I have used a card to pay I get them to put the refund on a gift card to use immediately on my next shop rather than the bank processing it and the funds are not lost in limbo during processing for several days.
Remember to keep track of which till spit go with each card as they now have the card no. printed on them and you don't want to get them mixed up or it may not work as well.
In the last 6 weeks I have gained about £50 in points to be used for Christmas or maybe wait for the @rgos sale or when we have a financial blip.
Making the most of it prior to the points value changes.
This has really helped us so hope it helps others.
Happy Shopping.:)

Thanks for that but I also noticed that if you go to a different sainsburys than your "normal" one you get great spit offers..as I travel alot I get a few nice goodies from shopping in different locations!!:beer:im tray not davey...pinched my hubbys account!!!
I must stop buying smellies..well until i spot a bargain!
never turn a bargain /freebie down you just never know when you need it0 -
Some good tips there. We have an instore pharmacy and on my way round the store I buy any medicinal or health/beauty products there, rather than popping in my trolley direct from the shelves. That way I get an assortment of till spits which can come in useful when paying for my shopping at the tills when I have finished my shop. I only go to Sainsburys about once a month these days so usually get one or two good tempters to try and get me to spend more!! However, there is usually a double points voucher amongst them which is always handy."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
