    So sorry :(
A mixture of post holiday blues and being skint is not fun sadly.
Glad MIL has offered the washing machine & I hope it is soon.
    Take care xx

  • Trying to end the day on a positive.

Won the fruit hamper at chub club so that helps reduce the food shopping bill :T.

£16.50 clubc@rd vouchers arrived so put some diesel in the car with them .

Washing machine ordered and will be here in a week. I don’t want anyone to think I’m not grateful or don’t realise how lucky I am that MiL has paid for it for me. I just wish I could pay for it myself. I don’t like feeling a burden.

DH has been better today :D.

MIL possibly is extremely grateful at the way you've stuck by her son and the way you care for him. Allow her to help in any way she can, and stop thinking you're a burden.... she probably thinks you're a total angel. :A ((hugs)) X
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

Posts like this are why this forum is so good. This such a good point and makes a lot of sense.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

I 100% agree with this post. You're not a burden because you're the full time carer for HER son and grandchildren. You bet she is grateful! She owes you a lot more than a washing machine in a way. So accept it as your due, but still be grateful of course :).

Also agree with Chrystal and HH's comments. MIL is lucky her son isn't back living with her. She's not just doing it for you she's doing it for her son and grandchildren. Don't feel guilty if she can afford it, she wants to help. Perhaps when you can afford it you could get her some flowers (or something) to show your appreciation.

  • Thanks everyone. MiL does often tell me that I hold everything together. She was really scared when she heard 50-75% of marriages end in divorce after brain injuries. To be fair though, she wouldn’t mind having her ‘boy’ back home either :o.

Was woken up this morning at 7am by a woman across the street smashing up a car with a hammer after finding out her Husband had been cheating . There’s always someone going through worse than you eh?! I know how she feels, but think she will regret her actions deeply “.
