Back from an expensive day in town! £81 for 2 pairs of shoes for DS2  who has grown a full size over the summer. He insisted he wanted his trainers from Clarks too as he had his eye on the glow-in- the- dark ones :(. Apparently £81 was the REDUCED price as you save £5 buying shoes and trainers together. Next time he'll be getting some from Sports Direct!! Thankfully, DS1 was still measuring the same and his shoes are fine, so his will do a bit longer!

I also bought a new phone charger for £19  as I'm sick of buying the cheap ones for them to stop working after 5 minutes, a Wedding Present, a Birthday present and lunch out!! Feeling very poor now!

Oh, and £42 at the vets for flea and worm treatment for the next 3 months .

    :eek::eek::eek:. I need a lie down!!!

It may be worth checking if your vets offer a pet plan on a monthly DD that covers all the "essential" things for animals? we pay £11 a month for our cat and that includes booster injections, worming, fleas, a yearly healthy check, 1 free vet appointment a year and 25% off procedures and emergency out of hours treatment.

congratulations on the weigh in! I go back to fat club tomorrow  well a new group.... can't face the old one. :o

  • We were posting on each others diaries at the same time lol!

Thanks Mrs H, I'll ask about it. We have a plan where all his injections are covered, but nothing else.

Hope you are doing ok Xx

  • Great news on the weight loss :j:T

The end of August does seem to be the time for people to spend serious amounts of money.
I'm all for DS' glow in the dark shoes:rotfl:

I also pay in to a Pet Plan for both my dogs, they are large dogs (26kg and 37kg) so pay just under £20 per month each.
I get free flea and wormer, free injections, money off appointments, money off spaying etc.
I checked online how much the flea and wormer are to buy separately and they are more than what I pay monthly so definitely worth doing for us - this is a scheme that my vets surgery run and I think most do by the sound of it.

Well done on the weight loss and  at the cost of shoes. My youngest was still wearing Clark's shoes at 18 as they do wear well.

Our vets have stopped doing the pet plan as so many people didn't collect the meds. It was a huge saving for us so I am going to miss it.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

But surely that would make it more worthwhile for them? If people don't collect then they make more profit?

My vets don't issue them until you ring up to request it and if you don't ring well its your loss and not theirs.

Is there another vet nearby Pooh that do a scheme? (I appreciate you are in the back of beyond)
