Circuit Board - To be upcycled

I'm not sure where to post this and as this part of the site is where I gravitate to I thought I might ask for help here :)

I want to make a little something for my DH for Christmas, we are not exchanging gifts but I still want him to have something to open so I am making a couple of things (Peanut Butter Reindeer Cookies and an ATC).

I'm not very gadget/tech minded, my DH is, and I would like to find some circuit board thin enough to cut to make into a topper for an ATC. I would guess I could pick up something in a charity shop maybe but I have no idea what I am looking for.

Any ideas?

If worst comes to worst I'll have to print off a picture of circuit board and glue it to card but I'd prefer the real deal ^_^

Thanks for your help :)

At the risk of being really thick - what is an ATC? Might give a clue as to the size of board you'd need

ATC's are artist trading cards, roughly the same size as a playing card. Mainly used to trade with other crafters or given as gifts etc

Just asked IT hubby and he said why not smash up a cheap calculator and use the small pcb in that, not sure if it's the look or size you're going for though

An old PC, phone or internal components should be ideal :)

Circuit board is generally the same thickness - however I agree with the above - a calculator board with the sensors for under the keys might make an artistic option.

  • Ha ha yes thanks, sorry about that! I need a piece to fit on top of a 3.5 by 2.5 bit of card, thanks for helping out with sizing tboo :)

I have an old calculator I shall have a look and see if it does the job :)

    Thanks for your help!
