Capital One Experiences- Please Guys!

I have offered CO a settlement figure of £3500 on a 7k debt.. has anyone got experiences of them?

Do they have a policy to settle on certain %'s of the balance?

Please people.

Is this on a loan or Credit Card?? They wouldn't offer my mum a settlement figure on her credit card she had to pay the full amount.

DH had a credit card debt (Which was actually statute barred but anyway..) It was £580 and they offered to settle it for £380.... Offer it.... the worst they can do is say no but it opens up the field for negotiation and they may come back with an offer they will accept.

I have nothing useful to add, however can I ask that you please update us on your progress? I will be watching closely as they are one of my sister's creditors. Thank you :)

    Hi HereGoes!

£7000, thats a serious amount of YOUR money that Capital One have deprived you of.

I say don't give in. I have been chasing
"Crap One" for over 3 months now for just £700 (including interest) and they are really messing me about!
Looking through this forum the only people that have had 100% success with them are those who are prepared to take them all the way by issuing a county court claim and I now feel that thats the only course to take with them.

The best that you can expect if you don't issue a claim is just a refund of the difference between charges at £20 and £12. Thats only a £8 refund for each charge and no interest for all the time that they have had and used your money. "Thats not good enough!" they are taking the "Pi*s"
I am now going to issue a claim against them as other banks I have found to be fair and reasonable - but not Capital One - IF I WAS YOU I WOULD GO ALL THE WAY AND GET EVERY PENNY BACK FROM THEM PLUS A TIDY AMOUNT OF INTEREST! ;)

The very best of luck to you!

    Sorry HereGoes

I though your post was about reclaiming Capital One "late payment" and "over limit" fees not a DMP.

As you may have noticed I am rather frustrated with them. (does any of your debt include any of these charges?)
