I can get by without any glasses, however have had a weak prescription for a couple of years. They more relax my eyes, switching from SD world to high definition. I sometimes wear them pottering around or TV but mainly for when I need good vision at distance e.g. shows or watching football. I can't read at normal distances with them. Optician said I am a little short sighted but I am also now, as getting older, I have presbyopia. This makes sense as can read small print but take time to focus.
Their recommendation was for varifocals. Plan being wear them more often and let lens do work as my eye moves from near to far etc.
They recommended saving on frames as would need best can afford lens -£200-£600!!
My delema, are more expensive lens worth paying for? As I can read without glasses & still okish for distance (easily better than driving limit)
If go for it and spend £600 I will never know whether spexsavers would be worse? Or do i get two for £100 from specsavers, and if not perfect wonder , should I have spent more?

They all work - it's just the more expensive designs usually give you a clearer/wider width of vision with less distortion.
£600 sounds an awful lot to me, even for top end digital lenses, especially as I suspect your prescription is quite weak, so you wouldn't need high index (thinner) lenses. Aim for midrange upwards to get a pretty good visual result.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Thanks.
Trying to find my prescription...
Don't want to spend a fortune, but also think cheap...if £100+ is cheap! Can be false economy.
Hard thing is, whatever I get will have to do for ages. So going round in circles thinking if I get cheaper ones I will regret it as false economy, but if get expensive will be throwing money away...arghh!
And haven't even started considering photochromatic, poloroid, anti-glare etc!!0 -
I bought my varifocals in Specsavers, they are OK.
I bought some prescription sunglasses in Asda, £99 for varifocals with designer frames. I have had loads of compliments and the lenses are crystal clear.0
